Overview & Specification

The Saver was conceived as a digital audio format converter & copier designed primarily for the audio pre mastering professional.

Based on a Windows 2000 Professional workstation with a simple user-friendly graphical interface employing a user specified combination of 8mm Tape Drive (Exabyte) & CDR drives to a maximum of six items.

It offers format transfer & duplication between the two most commonly used compact disc pre-mastering formats, DDP Exabyte (Version 1.01) & Red book CDR.

It also offers mode one & two CD ROM data copying, Mixed Mode Blue Book CD copying, Exabyte verification reports and “Raw Data” copying for cloning of data back up tapes etc.

Options include:

bullet“Real-time” input & output allowing audio verification / conversion to & from
Sony PCM1630 format CD pre masters and other AES sources.
bullet“Sub Code Editing” to enable I.R.S.C. & UPC/EAN to be entered / modified
without the requirement of up load to a digital audio workstation,
such as SONIC, PRO-Tools etc.

Basic System Options

Systems are available in 2,4 & 6 Drive bay configurations consisting of a Windows NT4/2000 workstation residing on an internal IDE hard drive, an internal SCSI III ultra wide Data Storage Drive and an Internal Eliant 820 8mm Tape Drive (Exabyte).

This system will support Raw Data copying to and from the internal SCSI drive only.

 

Advanced System Options

DDP option:

DDP (ver 1.01) Exabyte protocol.
Internal (1,4,8,12 x) CDR drive.

This combination provides simultaneous transfer from selected source drive to both other drives.

 

Pq Editing Option:

P.Q. software: Allows editing of I.S.R.C. & UPC/EAN in DDP & TOC

 

Real Time Input / Output Option:

(AES/EBU) I/O Interface & Software, including :

·       PQ burst (in & out)

·         L.T.C. (in & out)

·        Word clock reference (in)

Allows for real time playback and PCM1630 to DDP / CDR format conversion and vice versa to full “Red Book” specification.

 

Additional Exabyte drives:

Enables “Direct” raw data / DDP clones to be made simultaneously.

 

Additional CDR drives:

Enables Multiple CDR clones from CDR, DDP or Real time input.
